OCCL’s ethos is to:

  • support solicitor clients in their relations with their own clients, to achieve certainty and avoid conflict, where possible, and to resolve unavoidable conflict in an effective and efficient manner
  • support litigants directly either where they have not instructed solicitors, or where conflict or concern has arisen in relation to the costs of solicitors they have instructed, including preserving, where possible, the relationship between solicitor and client

On individual cases OCCL will at all times provide advice and assistance which is pragmatic, commercial and, where circumstances demand it, innovative.

OCCL regularly deals with cases where the costs are very significant (often exceeding GBP10m), and the issues are complex.
